Tea Sparrow Review: December 2013

Tea Sparrow is a monthly subscription box created especially for fine tea lovers. It's true that we tend to get a variety of teas in some of our monthly sub boxes, but those tend to be just a few tea bags, and they are not usually super unique or exotic like the things that Tea Sparrow offers. One thing that shows that Tea Sparrow really takes their tea seriously is that they send out only premium loose leaf teas (you need to have your own diffuser to enjoy these. I picked one up for $2 locally!) My mom's a huge tea lover so I knew she was going to love this.

Tea Sparrow sends out four premium loose leaf teas each month, from a variety of places all over the world. The subscription is $20/monthly. Each tea pouch has enough for at least five cups.
Mighty Leaf Tea White Orchard Tea: This is a delightfully sweet desert tea. It was perfect with the raspberry jam tarts we enjoyed over the holidays!

Florapharm Vanilla Honeybush tea: This is a German made tea that is hands down the best smelling tea I've ever experienced. The most vivid and delicious pure vanilla smell ever. I'm not normally the family tea drinker and I actually had this multiple times because I enjoyed the vanilla taste so much. My mom had it as an iced tea (you can have it either way) as well and thinks it's even better iced.
Teaja Organic Naked Chai: This is a caffeine free chai that we enjoyed, although I admit I am enough of a caffeine junkie that I regretted the "no caffeine" thing. I would call this a "light" chai taste when I tried it, but my mom brewed a cup today and let it steep longer. She said it was much better and stronger when brewed longer!
Rishi Tea Earl Grey Supreme: Earl Grey is my mom's favorite, so I knew she'd love this. it has Organic Fair Trade Certified black tea and natural essential bergamot oil. It has a very sweet scent (more flowery and sweet than other Earl Greys I've smelled). My mother did call this the best Earl Grey tea she's had, and she has tried many. It looks like this will be an upcoming gift for her!
Tea Sparrow was tons of fun for both my mom and for me. I enjoyed the discovery of this box, and that is coming from a person who is not normally a tea drinker! It was really enjoyable to try out different exotic teas from different places.

If you are a tea lover or need to buy a gift for one, I'd call this box a very good deal (don't forget to get a loose leaf diffuser, too!) Get yours here: TEA SPARROW!
