Wantable Makeup Box Review: January 2014

Wantable is my favorite high end beauty box because they customize based on your personal preferences. The subscription is $36/monthly, and you usually get at least double that in value. Typically, I receive four items a month.

I like the fact that we can exert such influence over the items we get each month. For example, for a while I was trying to stock up on beauty tools so I altered my preferences to strongly reflect that. Now that I've had a lot of great tools come to me over the recent months, I've shifted the focus of my quiz back to makeup (sans the blusher and bronzer, which I'm stocked on at the moment.) I basically asked for lippies, polishes, and shadows -- and here is what I got!

My Wantable beauty box for January 2014!

My extra: This is a freebie and is thus not valued. It is a sample of a couple Lise Watier shadows. I've received the full size of Taupe Fantasia in Wantable in the past and these are super high quality shadows that stay put beautifully. I'd be happy to get any of these in full size again in future.

NCLA Polish in "Cookies and Gold" (retail $16): I love this polish. It is super pretty with its round pink, yellow, purple, and silver glitters. I'm also quite pleased with the NCLA formula, having tried it before in the PopSugar Must Have box.
Starlooks Single Shadow Compact (retail $12): I really like Starlooks shadows because they are nicely pigmented and so silky going on. This is a nice shade that will work as a base or a good blending color so I'm happy with it.
Lise Watier High Shine Lip Gloss (Retail $22): I've had this type of gloss before and it's my favorite. It lights up when you withdraw the applicator from the bottle, plus it has another nice feature...
The mirror on the side! Makes it easy to apply lip gloss on the go, no compact mirror needed.
This particular shade is by far the prettiest I've seen in the whole Lise Watier line. It's a beautiful shimmery deep berry shade which looks a lot lighter once it's on.

Michael Marcus Lipstick (retail $24): This shade is called "Kim" and it's okay. Not horrible, but definitely not as nice as the "Stephanie" one I got recently. The lipsticks are very creamy and last quite well so I'm not sad to get it, just wish the shade had been more of a pinky tone this time.
I loved Wantable this month! The only "meh" item was the lipstick, but that too will get used eventually. I got some very nice products, three of which I really love (wearing the gloss and polish right now and the shadow is in my makeup bag!)

I noticed that pro makeup artist Jordan Liberty's company Liberty Republic (which sent out some false lashes in Wantable a few months back that I ended up loving) is going to be putting their brand new nail polish line in Wantable boxes coming up soon. I am definitely making sure my preferences ask for polish, because the shades he posted on Instagram are gorgeous.

Already excited for my February Wantable box. What did you get in Wantable this month?
