BarkBox Review + BarkBox Coupon Code: November 2013

Barkbox was the first of the pet subscription services, and it is still the most popular. This little box full of doggie fun arrives once a month and gives both you and your pets a thrill! The boxes cost $29 per month if you choose the month to month option, $23 monthly if you get the 3-month subscription, and just $18 per month if you get the 6-month subscription. Additionally, you can apply the coupon code  RAC10BBX1 to get an extra $5 off your first month!

You will select your dog size first: Small & Cute (0-20 lbs), Just Right (20-50 lbs), and Big & Bold (50 plus lbs). The box you see here is for the Big & Bold (Jade is a greyhound and is in the 60 - 70 lb range.)

Pogo Plush Slap Happy (Large size, retail $14.99): This is a really great toy that Jade loves! It is fleece with three legs on each side to allow for throwing it around and tugging. The unique thing about this toy is that there is no stuffing. The middle of it has a bouncy frame that will keep contracting and returning to its original shape no matter how many times it's chomped on (Jade plays with it daily now and no damage at all so far). There is a free floating squeaker that makes for extra fun and so far the squeaker hasn't been killed, either. This is a really innovative toy and would definitely be a perfect choice for the dogs who are chronic de-stuffers or who are tough chewers. We love it!
Twistix Dog Dental Treats (5.5 oz, retail $7.49): I wasn't initially sure about these because Jade has an amazing sense of anything "good for you" and tends to reject it. And believe me Jade very much could use some help in the dental department since she's not real big on cooperating for brushing. I'm thrilled that she ate these with enthusiasm and I've already ordered more. They are ridged to make the pet chew on them for a while and hopefully do some great teeth cleaning action. One of these is worth around 20 minutes of happy chewing for Jade to finish it.
Bocce's Bakery Truffle Mac & Cheese Treats (5 oz, retail $7.50): Bocce's uses only four basic ingredients in these preservative free, wheat free treats. The flavor is Mac & Cheese and Jade liked these, presumably because they are "extra cheesy" according to the label. We happened to be having human mac n' cheese the same day these arrived so we thought it was funny that Jade had the same thing we did that day.
Yumzies Jerky Chews in Duck and Sweet Potato (5 oz, retail $5.49): These are good for any size of dog because they can be broken into pieces thanks to the scoring. Each big piece can be broken into three treats, a nice feature. Jade enjoyed these very much and they are grain free and made with real duck which makes me happy as a pet parent!

We always have fun with our BarkBox! One thing I particularly like about this pet subscription box is that they always give us some nice full size treats. We got three excellent treat bags this time around and we will be enjoying those for weeks to come. The toys that BarkBox sends, like the recent puzzle ball toy and this month's sheepskin toy, become favorites for Jade very often, and they tend to be the type of toys I would never have thought of for her, so I appreciate the discovery aspect tremendously.

If you use the code RAC10BBX1 you get $5 off your first box (this code will also generate an automatic donation from BarkBox to the Racing Home Greyhound Adoption group, the wonderful people who gave me my first greyhound Luna) ! Check it out here: BARKBOX
