Barkbox was the first of the pet subscription services, and it is still the most
popular. This little box full of doggie fun arrives once a month and
gives both you and your pets a thrill! The boxes cost $29 per month if
you choose the month to month option, $23 monthly if you get the 3-month
subscription, and just $18 per month if you get the 6-month
subscription. Additionally, you can apply the coupon code
RAC10BBX1 to get an extra $5 off your first month!
You
will select your dog size first: Small & Cute (0-20 lbs), Just
Right (20-50 lbs), and Big & Bold (50 plus lbs). The box you see
here is for the Big & Bold (Jade is a greyhound and is in the 60 -
70
lb range.) Barkbox sends you treats, toys, and grooming aids appropriate
for your size of dog every month around the middle to end of the month.
We loved this month's Barkbox! Here is Jade's Barkbox January 2014

Your Dog's Diner Mutt Meatball Mix
($7.99 retail): This is a mix that you add to a pound of ground beef
and an egg to make meatballs for your pup! So excited to get this
because I enjoy cooking and I think it will be fun to make something
just for Jade. These have all organic ingredients and I am very much
looking forward to doing this. |
|
The meatball mix makes 40 meatballs for your dog! You can then refrigerate or freeze the cooked product. |

Barksters Sweet Potato and Beef Krisps
(retail $8.99): LOVE these! One of the favorite treats discovered for
Jade in a box so far. They are wheat free, gluten free, no additives or
preservatives, and they have a totally unique crunchy texture. I would
liken these to pork skin, maybe. Jade will get one and she will crunch
away for a long time, which is great. She often swallows without chewing
but with these she seems to really enjoy the crunch. So happy to get
something she enjoys so much. |
|
Sprong Red Football With Squeaker (retail
$10.99): This is a bouncy red football with a velour like coating on
it. It is really unique in how you can smoosh it and then it pops right
back into shape. We've already had lots of fun tossing this around and I
love the velour coating on it. Jade is not a heavy chewer anymore,
thankfully, so this is perfect for us (Barkbox allows you to put in
details like your dog's chewing habits on your quiz). I think a heavy
chewer might tear this up, though. |
|
Happy Howie's Lamb Sausage Links (retail
$5): These treats are delicious, according to Jade. I liked these
treats because they last a while. They are hard and break into pieces
once your dog starts chewing on them. They made a little bit of a mess,
but Jade did thoughtfully clean up the crumbs she left behind after
snacking on these. |
|
Licks Recovery Aid (2
packs, around $4 retail): These are designed as a recovery aid for
dogs. Before a long hike, walk, jog, or unusually heavy activity the pet
can have one of these to help with muscle recovery, endurance, etc.
These can be given on top of food or even just squirted into the pup's
mouth directly. We've not tried these yet as we haven't done any long
hikes with Jade in a while. Saving these as a pre-hike treat. |
We loved this month's Barkbox. The only item we
haven't already got in constant use is the little Licks packets, but
those were just a small item. We love how Barkbox continually introduces
us to new items. My girlie never had a chance to get too bored with her
treats or toys since more fun stuff is always coming in the mail!
You can get your furry friend their own box of doggie fun here (don't forget your RAC10BBX1 code for $5 off!):
